“Songs of Exile”
The Naghash Ensemble's signature project, “Songs of Exile,” showcases pieces from the “Songs of Exile Trilogy,” a three-volume recording of new music by John Hodian based on sacred poetry by mystic Armenian poet and priest Mkrtich Naghash, who spent many years in exile.

The Naghash Ensemble performing "Lamentations on the Death of Youth" live at Handelsbeurs Concert Hall in Ghent, Belgium. This song is based on a heartbreakingly beautiful poem from the 15th century on the death of the poet's son who is killed in the battle.
